I belong to an Ambulance squad in So. New Jersey. We own a 1964 Pontiac Catalina Ambulance. We are the original owner. Somehow we lost the narrow aluminum trim off the drivers side rear quarter panel. Not being active in the Antique Auto market, I was wondering if anyone out there can help us find a replacement part for this. We use this antique for parades and other public appearances and want it to look good. Otherwise it's the only blemish on this otherwise stock vehicle.

If you can post a clear picture of the similar piece from the other side along with dimensions it might help. John

Dommazz,
Welcome to the Forum. I can't help you on your project, but what can help you find parts a lot sooner would be to find out the coach builder of the Ambulance. A lot of those parts were specific to the coach builder. In the case of the old Cadillac Ambulances, the various parts on a Cadillac/Miller Meteor differed from a Cadillac/Superior of that same vintage. In your case, if your Pontiac Ambulance was 'home built' you could find yourself in a different situation.
If you don't get any results here try either a Pontiac related club, and a club pertaining to vontage emergency vehicles. SPAAMFAA (antique fire truck club) does recognize ambulances, they too have a forum, but most of the things are geared more towards fire trucks.
Good luck in your project.

If you mean the wheel arch trim, I'm going to post a full set off a '64 Gran Prix (same body shell as Catalina) within a few days.

Thanks for the heads up. No, it's not a home built but it is most likely either a Miller Meteor or a Superior as you suggested. I was not aropund when this was first purchased but we did get subsequent ambulances from both of these manufacturers. I'm not sure either is still in business but I'll check it out. Thanks again for the help.

The last of the special built pedal cars will be going up for sale at the RM Auctions in Scottsdale in January. Built by the renown restorer Fran Roxas, this "Dusey" is truly is another work of art.
