I bought Buddy's 640 on June 20th. It's in my shop now. I am trying to learn the history on it back to day one. Story is that Earle C. Anthony special ordered it and gave it to his architect, Bernard Maybeck, in 1929 as part payment for architectural services. As far as I have been able to determine Maybeck retained ownership until he died in 1957 at which time someone else became the owner. I would like to find out who this someone is. Next thing is this someone sold it to Raymond Hudachek, Orinda, Calif in 1957-1958 for $275. Raymond moved from Orinda to Ocean Springs, MS in the early 1960's and brought the Packard with him. I have visited with Raymond and he cannot remember who he bought the Packard from. Then in 1965 Raymond sold it to Buddy Walton, Metairie, LA for $1000. Buddy passed in 1998 and the family sold it in 2007 to Jimmy and Richard Gueydan, Metairie, LA. I am now the owner as of June 20, 2008. If you know anything at all about this Packard I'd like to hear from you. If you were one of the 6-8 cars in the caravan that drove with Buddy to the 1966 Glidden Tour in Tampa please let me hear from you. If you have any pictures of the Packard from years gone by I'd like to borrow them to copy or buy them from you. Thanks. George Schuetz, 1233 Route 12, Woodstock, VT 05091. 802-457-4444. Email: george41@sover.net. Thanks very much.
