Can anyone tell me how to remove the drive gear from the housing without doing damage to the gear itself?

I have already removed the housing from the cable.

Thanks.

sorry, i've never seen one of the gear-drive assemblies taken apart, so can't help. smirk in fact, i've never heard of or seen one that was worn enough to need repair, only cleaning.
