So.... see other threads for the whole story. wink

i am ordering parts to rebuild a 401 from a 63 riv. I have searched the web for a while, including nailhead forums. I ordered some parts from a Napa (owned by a friend of a friend). All the prices look in spec from what I would expect - except the main bearings (STD) are $299 !!! Does that sound right? It sounds WAYYY high to me - but I have never rebuilt a nailhead. Any other sources for STD main bearings? The places I found online only have oversize. At this rate, I could come out cheaper if I have the crank cut .010.

Todd,
Nice to meet you and Phil in Galena! I know some guys have used Terrill Machine out of DeLeon, TX for engine parts and they have advertised in Hemmings for years. They list 401 Main Bearing Sets for $85.00. Their contact information is:
Terrill Machine, Inc.
1000 County Road 454
DeLeon, TX 76444
254-893-2610
Hope this helps!
Tim
