No day of show registration. Cut off was June 7th.

I was going to bring a car or two but forgot to sent in the paperwork so have scheduled something else for Saturday.

Steve, since the registration form states "no day of event price" it leads one to believe that there is no entering a vehicle unless pre-registered. So I called the number on the form and was told that is correct, however they extended the registration up until yesterday

And here I thought "no day of event price" meant we could get in for free that day. That's why I didn't pre-register. So, what's up Bossman, are we going or are we mowing? smirk

The form reads: Registration $10.00 (no day of event price)__________________.

I know that I may not be the brightness bulb in the building but I read this as pre-registered that's why I called. Rick, I can help with the mowing, just no painting! crazy

OK, guys I was told by a member of the committee AND THE REGISTRATION CHAIRMAN that you can register the day of the show. I also just called a second member of the committee and verified that YES YOU CAN REGISTER THE DAY OF THE SHOW. I believe they do the pre-registration thing to make sure they have the right amount of trophies, etc. If you register the day of the show they may not have any plaques remaining, etc. but all is ok.

Soooooooooooo, I guess we can all go and don't have to paint or mow. Of course listening to each others stories may be worse! grin See you there.

Ron, if I'm not mistaken, it read something like that last year too. I believe the day of show registration last year was $12.00. And as long as our stories get better than the ones we had last year, it should be fun, no matter what Bossman says! So, grab a car and come Ron.

And be careful what you offer Ron, my mowing takes about 2 days! shocked

Rick, I am going to try and make it however I am unsure what I will bring. Unfortunately I don't own a mower so your on your own.

Steve, I have lots of stories since I just returned Monday from a Canadian Amphicar swim in. Let me tell you about this guy from PA who was cruising down the river with 12 other Amphicars. Seems he forgot to latch his doors for water travel and heard the fan blades hitting the water (very bad). While going up the boat ramp to exit it...........................................................(TBC)

I have to save some for the stories at the car show. See you there. smile

..............sounded like the transmission was having issues.

Fan blades hitting water is a strange sound. I took on more water then ever (coming up through the shifter rubbers) but managed to get out ok. Thank god Valerie wasn't with me. I also forgot to switch on my automatic back up bilge pump which is installed for unknown water intake in the event of a problem, or stupidity in this case.

We had a film crew along with us all day for a Canadian auto show similar to "Car Crazy". They were filming a segment for an entire show. The Toronto Star newspaper was also along for the day. They couldn't take enough pictures or film of my amphi purging water once on shore. One local Canadian accused me of dropping the water level in the river.

I have a film clip of Ted Holden (of Great Race Fame)
demonstrating one of is Amphicars for the local TV
station in Jupiter FL. Ted is talking to the reporter
and waving to fishermen as they motor past in a canal.
When the camera turns to the transom and shows water rushing in the unplugged drain hole. Real Excitment!
Proves boating in a car is not really that different
than doing it in a small boat. STUFF HAPPENS.

Haven't been on the site for a few days. Looks like I did miss the show that concludes in about an hour. I too, thought I missed the pre reg. date. Try again next year

Paul: I just received a call yesterday after the AACA museum show from my Canadian friends and I made the Saturdays Toronto Star newspaper. Unfortunately I can’t buy it around here so hopefully someone will save me a copy. It is a picture showing both bilge pumps really shooting out the water. I didn’t see them taking it as I was busy making sure water wasn’t in the oil.

Chuck: you could enter your vehicle the day of the show as there were many who did. The wording on the form was confusing and I’m sure it will be much clearer next year. A lot of nice vehicles showed up and we even got to go through the storage buildings. A shower hit just when things were wrapping up.

Thanks Susan. I turned the computer on this morning and one of my New Hampshire friends emailed me the link. I am in photo #7 and finally had to pull the bilge plug to get the river out.
