I recently purchased a nice running 1947 Dodge COE with a 6 cyl engine and single speed rear end. I am trying to determine what designation was given to this old truck. Also does anyone know of a good source of parts, books on coe's etc. I need the air cleaner assembly. I have already been to Amazon.com for the books. If it is easier to reply by phone my number is 805 710-3617 Best Regards to all and thanks for your help!!! Jim

Also you could try googling Dodge COE Trucks there are quite a few interseting sites that might help you ,plus you could try www.vintagepowerwagons for parts and literature. dodge first bought out the COE line of trucks in 1939

Jim,

Use to own 2 of these trucks, still have some parts, plus friend in PA has lots of parts for these early COE's built by Dodge from 1940-1947. We were just together at ATCA show in Macungie PA last weekend.

Also others on the 39-47 Dodge Truck site will be able to help you.

I use to keep a list of all the 40-59 Dodge COE's still around, that I knew of, but haven't added to it in years.

Let me know how I can help.

Take Care,

Nollie
