In 1953, I was a teen-age kid wanting a muscle car. I found a beautiful '51 Olds 98 sedan that I loved. I bought it, and married the girl I was dating in 1956. We drove that car on our honeymoon. We let it go in '58 and always wished for another one. It was a long time coming. In 2006, we found a perfect specimen! It had been stored securely for more than 50 years! A man in Arkansas bought it in the 1990s from an estate sale, replaced the tires, fuel and brake systems, and had the faded paint refinished. he enjoyed it for over 10 years, and kept the original miles (28,500) low. He decided to sell it in '06, and since it was my wife's and my golden anniversary, we presented it to each other as our anniversary gift. (She is into old cars, too) We have made a few more improvements. We have driven it in a local parade and entered it in a local car show. We've only put about 20 miles on it since we've had it. It was featured in the June issue of Journey With Olds-pages 15 & 16. It was also featured in many newspapers last month and this month throughout the nation, in those featuring old car stories by Vern Parker.
