We are not sure why it is not starting we thought it may have been the starter so we took in the starter and had it looked at the "fixed the problem" they rebuilt the solenoid. So once we got it back we put it back in and it still will not work My dad thinks it might be the Ignition. Please if any one could help.

You give no details to go on to help you diagnose the problem. Does the engine turn over? Do you have spark? Fuel in the carb? Give all of the informatiuon you can. Give more details on what you have done, and what the car is doing....

I think your next step would be to put new cables on. Same thing happened to me with my '68 and all it needed was a new positive cable.
