I am curious if there are any records as to the number of cars produced of each color available.
In particular I wonder how many cabriolets were produced in the yellow and brown combination that seems popular with restorers.
I personnaly like the andalusite blue on the 30 cabriolet best( but I have a bias as that is the color of the one I once had a hand in restoring). I think I even prefer the blue over all the colors available in 30. What do the rest of you think? What is your favourite A color?

Funny, while Cabs are fairly rare, I know of 3 in my area - all yellow and brown! I really liked the one you posted.
My '30 Tudor is actually painted in '28-29 Rose Beige and Seal Brown. I like it a lot although I can tell the car was blue from the firewall. This is a typical 70s or "parade quality" restoration - for some reason they choose to go with a flat blackfirewall over the original paint. Of course it has peeled with time.
I guess color preference depends on the body. Tough to beat a Washington Blue Roadster but I like green pick ups, etc.
I do not believe any reliable source exists today regarding color records.

the andalusite blue one we restored, and the car in the picture, was given a complete frame off restoration , and it is now........ yellow, and brown. I think that is a favourite of restorers, but I am thinking that very few were originally sold that colour. For the 3 in your area, this summer, ask them what the original colour was. I'd be interested to know the answers you get.

Too bad, that care really looked good in the blue. I would consider returning mine to blue if I ever re-restored it, but that won't be for years.

Don't tell my wife, but I am thinking about buying that car back ... returning it to the original blue would be in order, but I think it would be difficult to accomplish that?!?.

Maybe the MAFCA ( or/and the Cabriolet club or other speciality clubs)could be talked in to adding color of car to the membership car info collected on renewal? Maybe even original color/ restored color.
Of course this kind of 'trivia' may not be of interest to some, it is the kind of info auto makers now keep, so it must be of some interest. Makes you wonder why auto makers keep that info now, on # of cars produced of various color...
I have to confess here that I am not a member of MAFCA, so I don't know what car info they collect with memberships/ roster.

I do not believe either MARC or MAFCA collect colors. While Ford did not keep records, there were certain colors available only on certain models, at least from what I understand, several charts have been published in different publications. As keeper of a roster for a local region I am lucky if 30% f our members even update me on the basics - year, model and general condition, so while I agree it is interesting, it could be a tall order...

The last of the special built pedal cars will be going up for sale at the RM Auctions in Scottsdale in January. Built by the renown restorer Fran Roxas, this "Dusey" is truly is another work of art.
