Where can I find Type A trans fluid for a 1955 powerflight. Or what fluid takes its place.

A universal tranny fluid at autoparts replaces Type A and type F fluidsof the 1950s. Ask your autoparts vendor for universal auto tranny fluid for your Powerflite.
