simplyconnected Member Registered: 11/06/07 Posts: 406 Loc: Detroit (Royal Oak), Michigan	Everyone I know swears by them. They cost a lot, but are smaller and pack a bigger wallop (CCA's). Optima found, by rolling the plates (like a capacitor), they could pack a tighter battery, saving space. Other than that, they are still a lead-acid battery.

Ron Green Member Registered: 05/24/00 Posts: 1901 Loc: Camp Hill, PA. USA	I put one in my tow mule pick-up a few years ago and it works great. It can sit in the winter and hold a charge a lot longer then a wet cell, plus life expectancy is greater. Instead I bought two DEKA 880CCA, group 65 units for that price tonite. simplyconnected Member Registered: 11/06/07 Posts: 406 Loc: Detroit (Royal Oak), Michigan	I would do the exact same. I can get good American 12-v batteries cheaply at Wal-Mart. I never understood why 6-v batt's are so expensive. They deliver MUCH less power, and cost more money.
