I am going to order a complete glass kit for my car and was wondering if the original glass was clear or had that green tint to it? Thanks.

Steve, My 38 Dodge touring Sedan D-8, which was made in Evanville, IN, had a green tint to the glass. When I replaced all the glass 2 years ago, I thought that the original glass was clear. The man that painted my car said it was tinted green, which I thought he was mistaken. But after comparing clear glass to the original, I realized he was correct. I assume the D-5 would be the same.
I got my glass from Vintage Glass somewhere in Georgia, but recently found that Siemers Glass Co. in Evansville, IN has the pattern for 1937-38 Dodge cars and many other old cars and they do a good job on the new glass. Their phone is 812-422-4149 if you want to get prices. Thom

Thom, thanks for the info. I was leaning towards the tinted, but wanted to be sure tinted was original. I'll give Siemers Glass a call. I had gotten prices from Classic Auto Glass (the Glassman, in CA) and the tinted is not much more than the clear. It would be helpful to have a couple of prices to compare. Thanks again.
