I HAVE HAD A PROBLEM IN THE PAST WITH A PIECE OF FINE RUST GETTING IN THE NEEDLE SHUT OFF OF THE VACCUM TANK AND NOT SHUTTING OFF THE GAS,AND THE GAS POURING OUT THE OVER FLOW ONTO THE EXHAUST LUCKY NO FIRE. IF I PUT A GLASS BOWL FILTER ON THE INLET SIDE OF THE TANK WOULD IT STILL PULL THE GAS OR RESTICT IT.
fILTERS ARE ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA. ALSO YOU MIGHT WANT TO EXTEND THE OVERFLOW OUTLET PIPE TO END BELOW THE ENGINE SO IF THERE IS A PROBLEM YOU ARE NOT COVERING THE ENGINE WITH RAW FUEL. IT IS JUST A MATTER OF TIME BEFORE YOU HAVE A DISASTEROUS FIRE IF YOU DONT TAKE ALL PRECAUTIONS.
Yes, Mike you should put a glass bowl on the vaccumm tank !! Henry Yeska sells them for about $75.I have one on mine and it works and actually holds sediment ,if any !! PS , clean your gas tank !! Jessy James
