Brass era water inlet manifold

This cast brass water inlet has hole pattern spacing of 1.625" length wise and 2.5" across. Overall length is 9" by 3.125" width. Can anyone identify the specific application?

That looks more like a propeller shaft log from the bottom of a boat.

Yes, I have to agree. I do recall that there were some boat parts that were separated from the car parts. This one slipped through.
