Thank you to all who responded to my first post regarding the 1951 56S sedanette. We were able to pick the car up today. With a new battery from Tractor supply (imagine that) some fresh gas in the carb the old girl fired right up and ran surprisingly well. The transmission worked fine ( after getting used to the unfamiliar order...)
I think that the next step will be total fluid change out, a good wash and then off to the paint shop to get a small area that the former owner had sanded and primed due to cracked paint painted back.
I'm going to attach a couple of pics of the car, and as best of a closeup of the data tag as I could get that definitely shows it as a 51 56S and a serial number of 546.

Nice Tim, it sure is a 51 Jetback!!
Mr Earl, you're right, the rear end of the 50/51 Jetbacks are really something, almost mesmerising if your following one down the highway.
