I fully agree the car should have been restored to its original colors - even the dash should have been replated. Yes, it would have been costly, but the car is a 53 Skylark and not only that, it is a unique Skylark! Perhaps the owner just hated Seafoam Green and cutting the dash out to have it chromed and then reweld it back in certainly would have involved some inconvenience. Imagine driving the car with the top down on a cloudless day with that chrome dash in front of you! I believe for this reason the car was meant strictly as a show car. A chrome-plated dash is not practical. Customizers have done it in the past, but for show.
