Hi, I think if you can be more specific I might be able to help you. For example, headlights? headlight swtich wiring? tail lights? interior lights? Most troubles are for headlights due to exposure to elements and crossover wires near front of radiator or worn out switches, etc. The "8 wires" you mention could be for the headlight switch. What wiring harness are you trying to service? Headlight switch? Headlight bucket area to block connector (left or right)? Headlight block wiring to firewall area? Wiring from headlight switch to hi-lo beam switch? Crossover wiring harness from left side block to right side block? There are few factory wiring diagrams for these cars in Merc. pubs. However, complete car schematic was published by National Data Service. I have that information, but if you want it quickly, you will need to give me a FAX telco. number to transmit it to. Otherwise, I can only assist if you just zero in on specific area you are working on. The wiring harnesses are reproduced and available from several vendors for example Mac's Antique Auto Parts. www.macsauto.com The headlight switch wiring harness part no. is FAA-11653-A as an example.
Email back with exact requirements and FAX if possible. I have a '53 Merc Monterey Sedan for ref. Regards, Rich M.
