Hi Everyone,

I need to transport my TC from Topeka, Ks to Gunnison, Co. Price quotes are all over ranging from 500-800 for an open transport vehicle. Does anyone have personal experience with a company they would recommend? If not, any suggestions on picking a carrier? Thanks for the help.

Mark

I have used DAS from eBay and also used broker to transport. I have transported 4 cars. DAS is a little expensive especially when you consider they are terminal to terminal (door to door is extra) uninsured ( insurance is extra). Brokers are dealing with insured car carriersand they go door to door, or at least a large lot close by. As for brokers I would not take the cheapest, nor the most expensive, Kinda low middle ground, Good luck, lou

Paid $400 to get mine door to door / open carrier, from Phil. PA to Grand Rapids MI. But I don't think this guy goes as far west as you would need....

Just had my TC shipped from NJ to Denver via DAS - with insurance and top-side loading (so nothing drips on it from above) ended up costing almost $1000. And they deliver to a yard here in Denver, so you'd have to come down to get it. Or pay more (it's on their web site if you get a quote) for door-to-door. But they were the least expensive I could find. Took quite a while to get here - sat in their NJ lot for 10 days before they put it on a truck, then got here in 3...

BTW this is JeffN's Cabernet/Ginger he just sold me - How many other TC's are around Denver?

Thanks,

Jim

Thanks for the info. I found a ton of possibilities on the web, with an average price of about $650. According to their websites, all offer about the same level of service. So I guess I'll just pick one and keep my fingers crossed. Transport won't occur till mid-May--I'll post a follow-up and let people know the results.

for 650.00 you can drive it there and ride a bus back or if it dosent run rent a u haul for a lot less .its not that far from kansas to colo , if kansas money is that easy to come by ,i am sure some of us can work a deal on something to spread it around . RED MAN in Oklahoma

As TC rear wheels are along for the ride, if you're driving anyway, rent a tow-dolly. I've travelled with cars to Colo when I lived in TX with that type of rig. If you have anything large enough to pull it, it's the most economical way, gets there when you do, and some unknown won't bone it up for you.
But I've also shipped the TC open carrier (TX to VA) via internet broker & that was fine too, but $800 expensive.
I bought a used dolly for far less than that and have used it a number of years.
