After reading a few threads, I wanted to introduce myself to this community of classic car lovers.

You don't always need to have an expensive car to make it a classic. My car, a Yugo GVX may draw some laughs, but it is a classic in my eyes and there is never a short supply of people begging for a ride.

I look forward to seeing the ohter cars owned by other forum members.

Best regards,

Richard

Welcome Richard
Yes! beauty is in the eye of the beholder as the saying goes. Thats what I like about this site, everyone has there own idea of what a classic is and you will find every make, model and year of cars here. Just enjoy the hobby.

You might have read the post on the 1988 Yugo that's for sale near me. It's no joke! If you live close to Eau Claire WI. you can pick it up for $200.

Enjoy the site.

Tom

Thanks Tom. I will offer you a free ride anytime.

If it is in mint condition, any car can be a classic.

Drive safe.

I also had an "uncle Hugo". When people needed something from the store, they would ask him, "will you go and drive us in your Yugo, Hugo"? Oh well, I'm just trying to add some levity....... regards; old iron

3 lug bolts was usually French cars. The Yugo has 4 per wheel. Decent cars that didn't get the respect they deserved, usually bought by owners whose idea of 'maintenance' was to add gas to the tank. The GVX was the 'sporty' model with the 'big' engine and a lot of plastic cladding to make it look fast. smile

Tri-five Chevys and Corvettes....all over the place. Why do guys that have a Corvette, especially newer ones think they belong in a cruise that is set up for older cars? Too many, I do not even look at them. Tri-fives are ok because they fall into the older catagory.

Bring on that classic Yugo!!

Ya know I'm growin tired of that myself!!! There are SO many C5 and C6 'vettes around here! I honestly don't even so much as make a second glance most of the time. I don't mind seeing some newer stuff, actually the one popular cruise night there's always 2 or 3 80s fox body mustangs but those aren't THAT common anymore and all of em are customized well and built-up respectably.
