My 1928 Chrysler has Hassler snubbers. I would like to know more about these devices; what different makes used these, is there a service manual extant, how long was Hassler in business, are they still in business?

My 1926 copy of the Chilton automobile Directory has an ad for Hassler Stabilizers (patents pending) with sealed construction - "Hasslers are made in an individual model for practically ALL of the popular makes of motor cars. Prices and discounts available from any Hassler distributor. Or Write: Robert H. Hassler, Inc., Indianapolis, USA"

In the directory portion, it listed the street address for Hassler as 1535 Naomi St. in Indianapolis.

Hassler Motor Company of Indianapolis was, to quote the Beaulieu Encyclopedia "an abortive attempt by Robert H. Hassler, one of the organizers of the Marion Motor Car Co., to enter the automobile of his own design". He made a few prototypes with a Buda engine and exhibited them in the summer of 1917 before going out of business as an auto manufacturer. - I suspect he then made parts: the stabilizers for a few years.
