My power steering box leaks more tranny fluid than my Dynaflow--never a good thing!

The most apparent leak is where the steering column connects to the steering box, so it looks like I'll be dropping (or pulling) the box to R & R some seals.

Does any one know where to get a seal kit? Can I replace the major seals without dismantling the entire unit? Has anyone here ever rebuilt their steering box?

While investigating the leak, I noted how loose my inner tie rod ends were--read up on it, and found they were easily adjustable! I did so and what a difference! I still need to replace the joint where the intermediate rod connects to the idler. Any idea where to find that piece?

Thanks,

Rick

I can't speak to a 56 box but I've rebuilt 55's and 57's. The seals were off the shelf items with either a stamped mfg # that the bearing store could cross reference or simply match by diminsion........Bob
