I am wondering if anyone can advise me if the steering box from a 1957 Buick Roadmaster is the same as the one in a 56 Olds Super 88? According to my Olds parts book the part number for the steering gear housing is 5683201, I do not have a parts book for a Buick. Reason I am asking is that mine is leaking at the pitman shaft seal and I have a chance to pick up the 57 Buick steering box and if they are the same I was going to rebuild the Buick one and install it in my Olds.

I can check my Hollander books when I get home tonight to see if they interchange.

Len,
According to my Holander book the Buick steering box will only fit a 57/58 Buick and early 59 LeSabre. The Olds box will only fit a 56 Olds
