Does the AACA or Hershey region keep any statistics on the sucess rate or percentage of sales at the corral?.....Bob

Bob, we do not and I am sure the region does not. I would suspect the success of the corral might be based upon the renewal of spaces or selling out of spaces each year.

If one were to find the notary that was on site and ask how many titles were signed...

Diz, I wasn't reflecting on the layout of the corral at all. I was just wondering, not that I plan to...... what would be the best way to sell a car? Auction, Hemmings, or Hershey? Since I'm only about an hour from Hershey that might be a good option, especially with European collectors and the strong Euro. Hence my question about the "sucess" rate..........Bob

Well Bob, think about it this way, if the car sells, you got your money, if it doesn't, you still have a good parking spot in relation to the show field and flea market. In either case you don't lose.

I thought of that. I'm tempted to take something down and put a really stupid money price on it. But then I really don't WANT to part with anything..........Bob

While arriving 15 minutes or so early at our appointed meeting spot last fall, my dad observed 3 guys from the Netherlands (we think) arranging to purchase 2 cars in the car corral. They bought a really nice Impala convertible and something else. One was negotiating with the owner of the impala, and another was on his phone arranging a wire for another car. They go to Hershey for the convenience and selection, and love American cars.

I suppose this is really dumb but what's the best way to secure payment for a car sold at Hershey. Obviously buyers don't brings cases of cash. I wouldn't want to sign my car over to a stranger and give it up for a check that might be phony. Any good answers out there........Bob

Cash would be no problem, Diz. I'm wondering about the buyers without cash, especially foreign buyers. There must be safe way. I just wonder what it would be.......Bob

Most buyers and sellers I know deal in cash - especially at a venue like Hershey. Foreign buyers who can afford to come to Hershey and buy nice cars are sophisticated enough to arrange for wire transfers here on their own to put their hands on cash. My 2 cents - cash money is the only way I would accept payment from any buyer at a venue like that or across state lines, etc. Even bank checks carry some risk, why take any risk?

Oh, that makes sense. I was thinking that carrying a huge wad of cash through customs, and carrying it around, would be a nightmare. Making arrangements before hand and wiring your self the money here makes perfect sense. A car could be held for a day with a deposit and the cash money could be withdrawn as needed. Thanks...Bob.

I did that. Twice. Both cars went home with new owners. You'd think I would have learned after the first one. I'm never doing that again.

With the 2nd car - I parked it, got out, turned around to shut the door, and there was a guy sitting in the driver's seat! I didn't even have a chance to put the "stupid price" in the window! He had his mind made that this was the car he was looking for and I just happened to show up with it.
