All Right, you Finally got some Pre-war Data!

There are probably about 30+ Pre-War pieces out there right now. We are working on tying to find more for the website all the time. Obviously it doesnt compare to the 100s of Post-War pieces the website has collected. But the older the pieces are, the harder they are to find.

Also the Picture archive has some great Pre-War cars listed in it. As well as the wonderful cars that have been added to the Packard Owners Registry (Online Roster) from all over the world.

I am acutally in the middle of working on the Model Info pages for the Pre-War years as we speak. We got alot of great feedback and praise on the Post-War years, so hopefully the same rings true for the Pre-War years. I put the draft of the 1899-1910 model pages up last week. I hope to add a few years at a time as I can do the research.

If anyone has any original Pre-War (or anything Packard Related) materials that they are willing to scan and donate to the website, it would be welcome with open arms.

Everything we collect and get up on the website helps your fellow Packards owner out there, and the future Packard owners to be.

The mission statement for the website is to try to digitize as much of the paper content produced by Packard as possible before that paper is lost to the ages. The website is completely free, and I pay for most it out of my pocket with the help of a few folks that have donated cash to help offset the web hosting cost.

It has been nice to see over the last two years how many people have stepped forward to help out with donating content, doing research for the website, and also assisting people in the forums with their questions and problems.

It's been a great grassroots effort, and I hope it continues for many more years!!

You continue to beat expectations, and the quality of your site, which started out very good, is moving toward the excellent.

Thanks to Brian's (BH) hard work at getting them all scanned, the 55-56 Exploded Part Plates are now online in the Photo section.

Stay tuned as the entire 1955-56 Part List is on the way.

Also we have begun working on the Pre-War model info pages. Currently the raw data is up there, but we are looking for help in tracking down all pictures for every model. For example the 1941 model year has over 40 different models. As you can imagine entering all the data took a long, long time. The preferred pictures are the factory renderings used in the advertisements and brochures. But the factory B/W photos will work also.

If you can help out with this project, then please let me know.

Also the 1899-1910 Model Years are up also. I started that way and then decided to count down from 1942 as the later Pre-War years are applicable to more folks out there.

We have begun to start a universal Packard Directory of weblinks, email addreses, phone numbers, mailing addresses, etc of any related Packard Resources.

So if anyone would like to add any useful information to it then I encourage you to do so. Things like local rebuilding shops, vendors, media blasters, chome shops, cottage industry parts suppliers and things like that are wonderful additions.

We all have our own little black book of useful contacts. The idea is to supply and online version, where everyone can add, and share those contacts with others.

I have added a few of the National Vendors as well as all the PI and PAC Chapter information. Plus a few of my own contacts.

Also there is a "Users" section where you can add your personal contact information if you want to have a way for people to contact you. This of course is optional.

1956 Axle Letter

This letter was sent out Nov 2, 1955 warning all Packard Dealers that the flanged rear axle shafts produced by one of the vendors for 1956 Packard and Clipper models did not conform to engineering specification and could cause a shaft failure.
