While the weather is cold its time to restore the parts that can be done inside. I decided to open up the headlamps and see what I need to get them operating. It look like the previous owner didn't need light because the bulbs and cables are missing. The car I am working on is a 1930 Murry body Mode A. The headlamp that I have might not even be correct. I need help with information on the cable and bulbs that I should order. Maybe its time for a Quartz redesign and abvise on Quartz change over would be helpful. I would appreciate any advice that would help me. I tried to post a picture but havn't had any sucess

Most of the Model A Parts suppliers have websites that have photos and lists of parts that should enable you to see what you need.
I personally recommend Bratton's or Mike's. I have the most experience with them and have always had good luck in dealing with them.
I would stay away from Quartz, but do what you want to do with your car.

For some reason I can not load a picture. We have a very big show coming up at Kalmazoo, Mi.. They usually have a lot of Model A parts suppliers and my best bet is to attend with my parts problems. Its usually so crowded its hard to talk to anyone.

Here are the instructions for posting a photo. http://forums.aaca.org/ubbthreads.php/ubb/showflat/Number/429887#Post429887Be sure that your photo file size is not too big. Usually when I have a problem, the file size is too big.

Hi Matthew, May I ask why you do not like quartz? Phil Most of the Model A Parts suppliers have websites that have photos and lists of parts that should enable you to see what you need.

I don't like them because that is not how Henry and his people designed them. Also, using an original generator, you would probably have problems generating enough current for long time use with quartz. Good luck.

There are direct replacement halogen bulbs available. You take out the originals and put in the halogens. They use marginally more current than originals and work great with the original generator. Here is one source: http://www.lbcarco.com/cgi-bin/gen5?runprog=lbcnews&page=/halogen.htmlThere is another source check out your Model A news or The Restorer.

The last of the special built pedal cars will be going up for sale at the RM Auctions in Scottsdale in January. Built by the renown restorer Fran Roxas, this "Dusey" is truly is another work of art.
