You are hoping to sell a section of brick driveway to the owner of a Baker electric? Is the driveway from the home of the founders of the car company? Gotta give you credit for creative marketing, that's for sure!

YES THE DRIVEWAY BRICK IS FROM THE WALTER C. BAKER HOME (BAKER ELECTRIC CAR CO.).
WE ARE LANDSCAPERS WORKING ON THE 46 YEAR HOME OF THE FOUNDER. THE NEW OWNERS WANT THE DRIVE REPLACED.
I CAN REFER YOU TO www.LKWDPL.ORG/LORE/LORE197.HTM. I CAN ALSO SEND YOU PICTURES AND WILL HAVE DOCUMENTATION AND A COA TO GO WITH THE BRICK. I AM A CAR GUY AND REALLY DONT WANT TO SEE THE DRIVE TAKEN UP.
THE DRIVE NEEDS TO BE PART OF A MUSEUM DISPLAY WITH A BAKER OR IN A COLLECTORS GARAGE DISPLAY.
I CAN BE REACHED AT 216-924-6588 FOR MORE INFO. DAVE REGO

There were several Baker companies in the early part of last century. Leno's Baker is a steam car (Denver and Pueblo: 1918-1922; 1925), not built by the same family as the Cleveland-built electrics.

Why not consider donating those bricks to the Crawford Auto Aviation Museum in Cleveland. This was once one of the great automotive museums in the country. They still have a nice representation of Electric Vehicles with the concentration on the Cleveland built vehicles. Just a thought, then all car hobbyists could see them.

HAVE TALKED TO ALLEN AT CRAWFORD HE WAS NOT INTERESTED. I THINK HE THOUGHT I WAS NUTS. TO HAVE THE OWNERS DRIVEWAY UNDER YOUR BAKER WOULD BE SO COOL AND YOU TALK ABOUT BRAGGING RIGHTS!

SORRY I HAVE NOT CHECKED THIS SITE LATLY. THE BRICKS HAVE BEEN REMOVED. I HAVE RETAINED APPROX. 200 SQUARE FEET ON THREE PALLETS. THEY WILL BE AVAILABLE AS SOON AS THEY THAW OUT. CALLING ME IS THE BEST WAY TO GET A HOLD OF ME 216-924-6588 IF YOU ARE INTERESTED. I CAN SEND YOU PICTURES OF THE REMOVAL. I WAS A LITTLE DISCUSSED WITH THE RESPONSE OF PEOPLE LIKE ALLEN FROM CLEVELAND CRAWFORD AUTO MUSEUM THAT HAVE A BAKER ON DISPLAY AND DID NOT WANT THE BRICK TO DISPLAY UNDER THE BAKER. HE HAS BLOWEN THE CHANCE OF A SIZABLE DONATION FROM MY FOUNDATION AND ESTATE. HE IS CLEARLY NOT SERIOUS ABOUT THE COLLECTION.

Dave, send a letter to the "letter to the editor" section of The Plain Dealer (Cleveland's main newspaper for those of you who don't know) telling them about how the Crawford Museum was not at all interested in your historical bricks. That museum has been run by idiots for 40 years. The auctions of 1990 & 2000, along with the literature collection debacle of the late 1960's are evidence of this. I wrote into the paper when they sold the original Chitty Chitty Bang Bang race car stating they were fools for selling it & that they have lost all credibility with serious car collectors in the area & my letter got published!

THANKS. SOUNDS LIKE YOU ARE FROM THE AREA AND KNOW WHATS GOING ON DOWN THERE. I JUST KNOW WHAT I SEE WHEN I GO DOWN THERE AS A "TURIST". DARK AND SHABBY. ALL I EXPECTED THEM TO SAY WAS, "WE ARE INTERESTED IN JUST 100 OR 200 SQ FT FOR UNDER THE BAKER... THATS ALL. I WOULD HAVE EVEN DELIVERD THEM TO THE DOOR AND PUT THEM IN PLACE FOR THEM. NOT NOW.
