Another question, the base of my carb is wet. It is not gas as I don't smell any. At the front of the carb the manifold has a valley,(hole) that has filled with motor oil. Can anybody tell me where it is coming from? Do I need a new carb base gasket?
Again Thanks for your help..

I had this and its been a while so I'll have to think but seems to me that there is a bit of of a gas leak combined with some oil blowby resulting in a greasy mess-I'm also thinking throttle bushings worn and blowby being fed from vacuum of fuel pump-I'll have to ponder.

Oil bath filter but I have it off the car so it can't be from that.
Thanks

There's a 2GC 1956 OLDS POWERJET CARB #7008800 on Ebay; listing #220157350643 BIN for $19.95. It would make a great parts donor for the 7223's, 8800's 9300's carbs. I'm sitting this one out.. as I already have 2 BRAND NEW ones.. one on the shelf and one on my old Olds. AND 2 used ones TOO.

Being it's a ONE year carb, I stocked up!
