West Peterson let this important news slip out last week, but no one noticed. The front page of this web site has some great news for all AACA members. We now have some added really nice benefits afforded to only AACA members.
Check it out here....

The new benefits are a real plus for all members.
Hopefully these benefits will also help attract new members as well.

Would be nice if the print on that page was a little LARGER.
Even with my fairly strong bi-focals it is not all that easy to read.

one question and Steve is most likely the one with the answer, but it says yo get a "$5 coupon from Advance Auto parts (sent w/membership card)" What about our life members who don't receive new membership cards annually?

And one general comment. Good job to all invovled in coming up with this package. Glad too see free admission to the Museum for members. Without the AACA membership, there would not have been the money for the museum. I like the idea of the free (limited) research from the library. Both places exsist wether or not I use them. The museum doesn't really require any personal to personaly help me that isn't already there for John Q. Public, where as the library, if I request info, I'm tying up Kim and her staff for who knows how long to wait soley on me. Therefore I can see a limit on the time spent on a research request.

smile smile

Peter, Where's the "thumbs up" smiley? I could use one here.

Sorry about the small print but we just rushed this out since blabber mouth Peterson spilled the beans! grin The complete info will be out in the next magazine. We will have further details about this package soon on the web as well.

This new program has been almost a year in the making. The merger of the library and national was a prerequisite to accomplishing a part of it and there were other items to address. I do not know of any national car club that provides its members with these far ranging benefits. It is our hope that our members recognize and appreciate that AACA is truly working for them.

The unlimited access to the museum is a very substantial contribution by the museum board to our members. Last year AACA members attended the museum in significant numbers and the loss of revenue is no small item. The library research (and other benefits) is limited by IRS guidelines. We have to live by a statue that does not allow for excessive benefits to members since we are a non-profit. Members may not always realize what we need to take into account when decisions are made. As a non-profit we must make sure we do not violate IRS regulations.

As far as the coupon, life members will be able to get the coupon but we are a little uncertain about the manner in which it is going to be sent as we have several options.

Yes, still far lower than most clubs and far more benefits. The quality of our magazine alone is worth $35.00 a year in my opinion. The $5.00 increase is negated easily by any one of the new benefits including the $5.00 coupon from Advanced Auto Parts.
