I've got a right side 1951 chev pick up ribbed running board that is rusted thru at one end. Any hope for it or should I look for a new one. Lowell Redmond, WA

Lowell,

The service noted above for running boards is for rubber replacement in the 30's mainly. What you have is easily obtainable. Scrap those rusty dented ones and buy a new reproduction set. Buy a Hemmings, there are several providers of running boards in the TRUCK section. I had those catalogs but no longer have my trucks so I no longer have some of the catalogs.

Jon,

There is no mention of negativity toward your business. My direct quote says your business caters to the rubber section of runningboards "mainly" from the 30's when this covering had it's hey day. Of course, there are exceptions, but running boards by and large went away in 1940 to 1941 for passenger cars.

I take offense at your bolding your comments and referencing mine as blabbing. You paint a dim picture of yourself and your business that way. There is no need to "read a litle more" in this particular application, although I am sure you have a fine product, it's not for this fellow - and I was merely trying to paint a picture of your service so he could undersatnd what your advertisement referenced. I have owned the truck this party references and I have the catalogs. They are not rubber covered and it's typically less expensive and a better choice to go with reproduction.

Have a nice day Jon, take some time off and go fishing.
