'40 Cadillac Hood Ornament

The glass piece between the wings of my 1940 Cadillac hood ornament/latch fell out but is still in good condition. Any suggestions on how I Fix it in place so it won't fall out again?

Have you tried using a little dab of RTV Silicon Seal? You can get it in clear, and it will usually make anything stick.
