Well I am back from Vegas so I have been trying to play catch-up.

There are a couple new things out on the website:

Brian (BH) has uploaded pictures of full size clay models of the proposed 1957 Packard Models that were never built. These were designs for new Packard Models, not the rebadged Studebakers that ended up getting produced. Not sure if these were ever published anywhere, but if not you can now enjoy them on the website.

Also most of the pictures from the PI swapmeet have been uploaded for everyone to enjoy.

I've had these pix (8x10s) of the '57 clays for almost 20 years, but just couldn't decide where they'd be most appreciated, and least subject to piracy.

While a similar view of the Clipper can be found in the AQ/Kimes History..., the pic that I provided was taken from a slightly higher angle AND shows a date card in foreground. While other views of the Four Hundred can be found in a few other books, I've not seen this particular view elsewhere, and it also shows a date card in foreground. Although I seem to recall a partial and obscured view of the Caribbean from elsewhere, this is the only full view of this clay that I've ever seen.

Given the length of time that I've had these photos, the presence of the date card in a setting that is known to be "factory", and a few corroborating views published elsewhere, I am confident that these are not some fake photos of prototypes that have never existed (as we have been subject to elsewhere).

I'm glad you enjoyed these pix and hope other fans of mid-fifties Packards will as well.

Brian--did you buy those photos from John Conde at a swap meet?

My photo collection is a mixture of factory originals and some reprints, and while I did get some photos and other literature from John Conde (by mail as well as swap meet) in the years since, these particular photos of the '57 clays were acquired from someone else, whom I'd rather not name. Again, these images are not an exact match to any other that I have seen anywhere else.

In case any enquiring minds are wondering, if these pics had come from John Conde and were reprinted from negatives that he owned (he usually labels those as specifically prohibiting reproduction without his express permission), I would not have uploaded them. I have another photo of the '57 Four Hundred, but a clay model that was done in scale, which falls under that category, and I will not upload it for public display.

Meanwhile, I'd heard that John sold his collection some time ago, but don't recall who got it.

One of these winters, I will take time to scan all the photos I have (about 50 in all) for my personal archive, and then put all the prints up on eBay as a single lot to the highest bidder. Some are fairly common, but a few are real gems.

Well for those that havent noticed, there is a new menu selection on the Main Menu... 'Packard Model Info' out on the Website

This section of the website allows you to pull up detailed model info. Eventually we will have all the years online. Currently only the 1946-1956 years are ready for debut.

After selecting either a year or a series, you will get a model listing with a thumbnail picuture view. Clicking on that thumbnail will pop-up a detailed information windows giving you all the specs, on that model as well as running trim and body changes. Please read the information on the that first page and it will go into greater detail.

We are currently looking for people that wish to help with the pre-war years (1899-1942). If you can help please let me know.

I hope everyone enjoys this feature. This have been in development for a couple of months and 100s of hours of research went into it.

I was very pleased to get online this evening and find that you had gone public with the Packard Model Information feature.

Though I have been immersed in the Xref project for the CVOA (1000's of OE parts, with reference to 100's of aftermarket parts) for months and have recently been helping their Editor publish a (late) special double-issue on last year's National meet, it was my pleasure to take on the task of corroborating the specifications, providing cleaned-up graphics, and writing up the General Info text for each and every model of the 55th and 56th Series. No matter how much we think we know about our favorite cars, there's always something new to be learned from projects like this.

In time, perhaps others will step up to the plate to "Adopt-a-Series" and help make this new feature the favorite model reference guide for Packard enthusiasts - new and old alike.

Some of the AEA Tune-up and Wire Diagrams have been added to the website, also the 1955-56 Rochester 4GC Carb service information is now available. Thanks to Brian (BH) for the donation of this material.

Also for those that have not looked at the site in awhile, we have started a Packard Owner's Registry (Roster), where Packard owner's can add information and pictures about their own vehicles. Also owners can make changes to their information on the fly.

Just added a review on a pretty good rust remover to the website. Please feel free to give it a read if you are interested.

Am I missing something? I clicked on the review, saw that the product had been purchased, but no comment on how well it worked. Clicked on "more", but there was nothing more on the rust remover.

Click on the header (title) for the article and then it will open. At the bottom of the page there are navigation options to go to the next page. There are 6 pages are together. The 'more' option on the preview screeen simply shows you more articles. Not more of the current article.

I hope that makes sense.

Almost 200 photos from the Warren, OH Packard car show have been uploaded to the website. Some very nice cars from a 1900 Model B all the way to a 1958 Hawk and everything in between was represented.

Also the Predictor Dealer Car Brochure is online.

All the exploded 1948-1954 part plates are now online in the Pictures Area of the PackardInfo.com website. This should make it easy for people to quickly reference any needed diagram on the fly.
