Not my car, but I've helped the owner with various tech questions and parts sourcing during its restoration.

The history of this wagon and its restoration can be found at Ranchwagon.com

Diz. Ford didn't make a Nomad. That was Chevrolet (1955-1961).

Dear Vertigo,GUESS next time i should be more clear.Next thing you are gonna try and tell me is my 62 Vette was made by Chevrolet I do believe that the only 2 door NOMADS were 55-57 although they continued the name into the 60s on 4 door wagons.diz

Ford's attempt to counter the Chevy Nomads was the 1956 2dr Parklane wagon. It was a 2dr Ranchwagon with the Fairlane "V" side moulding and some added stainless trim on the door posts. The trend continued in 1957 with the 2dr Del Rio wagon.

Hi, Diz...

Don't forget the 2-door 1956 Pontiac Safari wagon. My father owned one. Dad will be 90 years old in December and to this day touts the '56 as his all time favorite car.

Regards,
