Howdy folks; I just got my 31 truck somewhat running and was adjusting the distributor. It somehow jumped up and now I have no idea where the distributor is set. HOw do I get the dist. back to where it belongs. Does anyone know where the timing mark is ? Please help with any info you may have.

Thanks Dave

This is probably too late, but here it is.
Pull the distributor free from the engine to avoid damage, remove the number one spark plug, place your thumb over the spark plug hole and crank the engine, as soon as the compression blows your finger out of the plug hole stop cranking, repeat ubtil you get it exactly right this will be the compression stroke of number one cylinder, replace the distributor with the rotor pointing to the number one plug wire. your done; start the engine. PS: tighten the distributor hold down clamp this time!

I solved the distributor problem now I have a radiator problem having thrown a fan blade half way through it. I think I might sell the truck. New radiator, fan blade and 4 new tires. Should run great again when I get the radiaor and fan back in. Check my latest question with a photo attachment if anyone is interested in buying it.

Thanks Dave
