We bought a bunch of A and T parts. Among the A engine parts was an exhaust that is different to me. Where it normally curves down at the firewall, this one goes straight back. Was this a common thing and does anyone need it?

That sounds like a manifold for a Gleaner Combine. Gleaner used Ford engines from 1929-1939. The Ford engines were basically Model A .
