Hi everyone. Hope you don't mind a bunch of newbie posts. My dearly beloved and I have an '89 that wasn't well cared for (by previous owners). The sunroof needs work and the headliner is shot. The trim around the sunroof is dry-rotting and some of the metal underneath is rusting so I have to replace this but can't find a replacement part. I think the sunroof may not be original and I'm wondering if anyone can tell me who made the original sunroof, or where I can look for more information? This one has an ASC logo, so I went to their website and also emailed them but no luck there. Also, the headliner shell is pretty much shot, so I'm looking for a replacement. Any help would be really appreciated.

Congratulations on getting your Reatta and WELCOME....! I'm sure someone will help you with your sunroof shortly. You can also try the search function on the tool bar above - really neat and loaded with info...

Go to a Mazda dealer, the RX-7 of about the same years as Reattas used a sunroof just about the same as ours. It just isn't as flat. I had my headliner done, including sunroof, for $60 and wouldn't pay over a hundred at an uphostery shop

I did my headliner and as before the sunroof you can get parts at your local Mazda dealer. I put 2 new cables in as I had the driver's side broke. Works geat. The Mazda roof and Reatta roof were made by same company.

Thanks all for the help, and thanks for the welcome, Nic. The local Mazda dealer says they can probably do something for me; good news indeed.

I've been reading the posts and am amazed at the wealth of expertise here. And I do mean amazed - I've learned about dozens of fixes for things I want to work on. It's a free education for now, but I hope one day I'll be able to contribute.

Thanks again. <img src="http://www.aaca.org/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif" alt="" />
