Have a very early 1929 Ford Station Wagon which has a 12 11 28 date on the firewall. Wish to share information with others owning or having knowledge of these first factory woodies from Ford. The Murray ID plate is missing (nail holes are there) and the engine has been changed so I don't know just how early mine is. My one key question concerns the wood around the rear fenders. There are those who claim that if this wood lacks finger joints, the vehicle was not built by Ford. Mine appears to be most original in all other respects however instead of finger joints, it has lapped joints. Could it be that some very early Station Wagons left the factory with lapped, rather than finger joints in this area? Thanks.
