gotta 53-98,303 motor;it is driven approxametly40 miles a year ,crusin the highway at 50 mi/hr give a little gas to go faster starts to blow blue smoke out of exhaust .been told rings are stuck ;guestion:how do you go bout` unstuckin them ,is there a quick solution without a rebuild? thanks to who reply! It's unlikely your rings are frozen, if they were you would not get compression on that cylinder.<P>Gummed up is a possibility but by "ungumming" them you would be increasing the clearances making the problem worse.<P>Sorry to say but she just needs an overhaul, in the meantime you could increase the viscosity of the oil in the crankcase to reduce the problem. <P>What do the plugs look like? How much oil are you using? When you take your foot of the gas while driving does the problem appear worse?<P>There really is no "magic" cure to an oil burning engine, most likely the valve stem seals are letting oil by also.<P>Get it rebuilt.
