i am looking for help diag problems with auto climate control system, fan has stoped working, all fuses good, replaced fan, still no good, relays are making noise when activated. fan does not run.<BR>I need help, where do I go from here?<BR>should I splice in a manual on/off switch?<BR>it is a varrable speed system, does the digital reastat go bad in the control center or am I missing a relay.<BR>urgently needing help!<BR>Thanks!<BR>All coments will be considered good and bad Jamessumner@Big-River.net

You didn't say what model and year. If it is simular to mid 80's Riv's (same as Toros)check the fan control board in the Heater A/c<BR>air box next to the fire wall left side. It mounts like the resistor's do on a manual system.

When you find the blower control module in the a/c case under the hood, when you remove it you will find an aluminum heat sink with a circuit board on one side of it. It will probably be a dealer-only item and be in the $100.00 range. It's easy to change and such. I concur that that's probably where your problem with the blower motor is, provided the motor itself has not failed.<P>Enjoy!<BR>NTX5467

If you suspect this board and if you are handy at soildering electronic componets (or know someone who is}, you might try replace the SCR on the board. It's silver about the same dia. as a quarter. Got new board for the 85 Riv once only to have it fail again.<BR>I found that a single strand of wire was sticking though the harness loom and would take out the SCR on the board when it would contact the steel A/C line.
