Located under the hood on the right front of the cowl is the body tag. The style No. indicates the model (year) and body style.
For 1952 the Pontiacs were a Chieftain series 25, 6-cyl or series 27 8-cyl.
With the car being a 1952 of course the first two digits should be 52.
The rest breaks down as this:
Convertible coupe deluxe..........256DTX
Catalina coupe deluxe.............2537D
Catalina coupe Super deluxe.......2537SD
2-dr. sedan.......................2511
2-dr. sedan deluxe................2511D
4-dr. sedan.......................2569
4-dr. sedan deluxe................2569D
Station Wagon.....................2562
Station wagon deluxe..............2562D
Sedan delivery....................2571
Hope that helps.
