If it is a hobby car take your time. Soak the threads repeatedly, on a daily basis with Kroil, Nut Buster, Liquid Wrench or a similar product and then lightly tap bolt head with a hammer, repeat this process for a few days. Afterwards,try torquing

Are you sure you are connecting the sending unit resistor in series with gauge and power-source? If so, what are you using for the power-supply? Is the sending unit outside the tank, so you can move the arm? Does it react differently if you move the

Can you pull the oilpan off easily? The last one I looked in had about 3/4 inch of crud in it.

Mike, maybe Rodger will explain this better. But my understanding is as long as the horn button was on the door, '22ish, they were negative ground. When the horn button moved to the steering wheel they became positive ground.

Thanks for the info. I figured those to be the places to start if the deal goes through. The car supposedly starts fine and will run at 50 all day so I thought check the small stuff first and if all looks good, determine the rear gears. Wouldn't a 4.

You won't like this answer, your engine is starved for oil, running hot, and it knocks; it needs a major overhaul. Tear it down, carefully scrutinize cylinder and crank damage/wear, then send them to a good machine shop for resurfacing/boring/grindi

Thanks.. Thats the info I was looking for.. The engine has never been apart.. 14000 miles total on car.. lot of gunk in it.. any good suggestions for cleaning it out without taking apart.. Runs good but burns some oil..
