The distributor is most easily accessed from underneath the car, with the car on a lift. I remove the oil filter and have decent access that way to do any work necessary. The one thing doing it this way, you have to do everything by feel. BTW, I DO

Yes its Albro/Schiefer aluminum bronze face, initially though Flat Ford but they have 2 guide pin holes where this only has 1. Center opening to large and tooth count all say no.

Thanks Brian...that description sounds like what I have, but the tire shop said that if they put them on before putting the wheel on (I got them with an anti-theft strap that needs to be screwed on from the back), they couldn't get a wrench on them.

Derek, as you know, the correct centers for '66 are the ribbed cones that were utilized for '66 - '70. Assuming that these are the reproduction centers you've purchased, they should work as long as your wheels are the correct style for '66 - '70 app
