I would love to super charge my car , but I would probably need a permission slip from my wife. <img src="http://forums.aaca.org/images/graemlins/blush.gif" alt="" /> I don't think she would be interested. However if you could post about how much it would cost to do the upgrade as well as mods that need to be done. Also about how much time it takes. What would the boost in H.P. be and do you need to upgrade anything for the computer to read? I have an '89.

Jon,

Welcome to the Club!

Who did your PROM programming?

Have you up-sized the Exhaust to 2-1/2"

Isn't it great to have an engine that really breathes!

i think i would rather have a turbo, because they made a turbo reatta, and make it look like the one in the pictures, execpt, not wrecked.

The amount of HP you want to create is in direct proportion to the amount you invest in the Program.

The amount or reliable HP you want to create is a factor on top of that. Here are some numbers from memory, this work included my 5-Spd conversion.

$1600. Crate Engine

$1100. Engine Builder Balance Job (including Flywheel rework)

$2400. Getrag 5-Spd. Core and Rebuild

$400. Hydraulic Clutch Master Cylinder and Slave

$400. Motor Mounts

$600. 1/2 Shafts

$800. Salvage Parts-Engine Accessory Mounts, Shifter, Clutch Pedal Parts

$300. Replacement Radiator

$1100. 2-1/2" Dia. Stainless Exhaust System

$550. S/C Blower including Plenum (reman)

$200. PS Pump and S/C resivoir

Here's around $10K and and that's not including miscellenaous and sundry, nor design or fabrication of some specialty parts, building the Clutch mechanical linkage parts.

In exchange I've gotten mainly reliable performance, accumulated somewhere around 75,000 miles since the conversion and she's good for another.....

(Self inflicted knock damage not included)

Thanks for the info,i think it would cost me a lot more to do this because i would have to add the price of a divorce!I have already invested enough in my 88,almost 8000.00 and nothing special about it,but it is a Reatta and i d ont see much of these around.

Mongeonman,

Keep coming back here, you'll maintain the Reatta as economically, or even more economically then anything else you could be driving.

Domestic Harmony above all else must prevail.
