General Question about identifying GUIDE light lenses

I am wondering if there is any GUIDE (!)

to deciphering the markings on Guide Brand Lenses ?

I am familiar that the second numerical part of the molded number is usually the first year it was used but do the Prefixes like 1F1 or R5

always refer to a given make ?

(i.e. Chevy Truck & Cadillac respectivelly ?)

Were guide lenses only used on GM vehicles or if not what others ?

has any one ever seen a GUIDE lense only parts listing application catalogue ?

According to the ones I've seen they seem to be a Brand name of DELCO ?

Would appreciate any knowledge of this topic you may have...

I don't think Guidelamp did lighting for anyone other than their fellow GM Divisions.

Guide produced unique lighting units for Packard in the 50's. They were no different that other GM divisions. 50's Packards use Delco distributors, starters, voltage regulators and generators (big cars, the Clipper line used Auto-lite, before they were bought by Ford) Guide made many marker lights for P'kard.

Hudson and Lincoln bought four-speed Hydra-matic transmissions from GM.
