The black material around the window is a black plastic that is part of the glass. You can try treating it as any other plastic piece and polish it with polish much the same as the rear tail light lens. If this doesen't work, it can be primed and painted with a black paint made for plastic such as the paint for bumper facias. This can be purchased in spray cans at the local auto parts store.

The rubber around my rear and windshield seems to be drying out. Can anyone recommend <BR>a product I can treat it with to keep it shiny and soft. I wet sanded it smooth last week and it is smooth but dull.

I have found a product called Turtle Wax 2001 Plastic Clearer and Treatment that seems to work well on the black or gray plastic parts. Available at most auto parts supply.
