Guest
I own a 1989 Buick Park Avenue with the same basic digital display as some of the reattas. But something is wrong with my gas gauge. When i fill the tank, the gas gauge blinks 5 times and then it stays solid. But then when it finally goes down to 3/4 of a tank, it jumps down to 1/4 of a tank, so i never really know how much gas i have. In the owners manual it says to contact a dealer, so I have, and they dont know what the heck is going on, and they said that i would have to send the whole dash in to GM. But i dont have time or fundings for that, so, Please, any suggestions would be helpful. Thanks -MIke
Guest rong
Two things come to mind initially, the connector to the dash is intermittant or the sending unit from the fuel tank is "broke". First is to remove the main cable connector to the dash, clean the contacts and reseat the connector. This fixes many "strange" problems. The sending unit will be unique to the Park Avenue.
Good Luck
