Buy/Sell Forums

IMPORTANT: Put either FS for "For Sale" or WTB for "Want to Buy" in the subject line along with the year, make and model.

EXAMPLE: FS - 1950 Plymouth Business Coupe

Please include the following information in the body of your post:

  • Year
  • Make
  • Model
  • Price (strongly suggested)
  • Description
  • Location (City, State, Country)
  • Contact Information (Name, Email and Phone)
  • EBAY URL if also listed on EBAY

Photos and price listings are optional, but they will increase interest in your posting and greatly help the sale.

After posting, please check back frequently, because interested parties will be posting questions and asking more information on the Forum.

Incomplete, overly commercial, or non-automotive related postings may be deleted without notice!

It is NOT okay for forum users to make negative comments on a seller's listing, nor is it okay to question its asking price.

There are many scam stories.

Common sense applies.

  • "TALK" with the potential buyer or seller
  • Inspect the vehicle before money changes hands (yourself or a trusted 3rd party)
  • If the buyer/seller doesnt honestly discuss the the car (condition, history, etc.) - its a scam.
  • Insist the buy/seller calls you from a line not blocked. If they refuse it's a scam.
  • If he provides a number but its a fax machine or the buyer never answers it's a scam.
  • If the seller wants you to pay for anything BEFORE funds are secured - its a scam. (shipping charges, etc.)
  • If payment issues are more complicated than a check, money order, certified check, wire transfer or cash - it's a scam
  • ALWAYS wait for funds to be confirmed as valid by the bank (not just a deposit slip) before allowing the car or title to leave your possession - NEVER assume the funds are good - even a money order or certified check.
  • Cash TALKS!
  • DON'T engage with an obvious scammer - simply delete the emails.
  • Law enforcement can't do anything until a crime has been committed - dont let it get to that point.
  • And finally - if it seems to good to be true, it is.
