Narve N
Anyone having run a 323 cui Chrysler L8 with twin carbs? I have a Fenton intake as pictured and also two usable Stromberg AAV-1 (OEM) carbs as trial fitted here, but understand that the popular choice was Stromberg 97s and the intake is also set up for three bolt carbs. Appreciate any input before I undertake to put things together.
c49er
I had the same polished fenton but sorry to say never ran it as my car ran so good didn't want the hassle..so I sold it... But I was going to run the Stombergs. I did install a NOS mallory distributor though. Edited October 27, 2018 by c49er (see edit history)
billorn
97s are much more common and the flathead Ford guys use them so the aftermarket has lots of tuning parts like jets, linkage, metering rods and replacement parts like that. I think they even make brand new 97s. That might make tuning a custom application like this a little easyer. On the other hand you already have these so give it a try and see what results you get before spending alot more money.

Did they make an aftermarket to fit the 323? Any pros and cons? The 323 in my 1940 starts to stutter and fail when I hit 2000 RPM (less when hot or with bad gas), so any improvement here would be welcome.
