Obtaining use of a lift?

I have never seen the full underside of my 88.

I was thinking of going to a mechanic's or oil change facility and asking them to put the car on their lift so I could have a look around.  I am willing to pay a fee to do this.

I am concerned that I will not be able to do this for a couple of reasons.  Most places are super busy.  Most places have signs that say "No Customers Allowed Due To Insurance Rules".

Any advice or experiences from your past would be welcome.

I would try a small owner operated muffler shop. Those guys always are looking to make a few extra bucks. They tend to be pretty loose with the rules and would probably allow you to take a look around underneath the car. I doubt they would allow you to do any work on the car while it was on their lift.

What is the issue you want to look at?

I just want to see what the condition of the undercarriage is.  Probably check over the exhaust system, see if there is any damage to anything,  maybe check out the rubber mounts.

This would be much more convenient than jacking up each end and schooching my old, chubby arthritic body underneath.
