Paul Dobbin
Yesterday our 50+ year old car group took a 80 mile ride on Historic Route 64 from Franklin NC' thru the Cullasaja Gorge, up 2000 ft. to Highlands & Cashiers to Sapphire Valley to meet members of the Smoky Mountain Region of AACA at a nice eatery. Our Model T guys rode in this 1924 Yellowstone N.P Tour bus, while 3 Early Ford V8's, (34,35, 36 & 40). a unrestored 30 Model A, a 32 Plymouth, a 63 Studebaker Avanti, a 68 VW Crew Cab pickup and a Model Shay replicar drove it.. We were met by the Smoky Mountain Region pf AACA guys in their 80's cars & a 61 T-Bird for a nice "Meet in the Middle Tour" 80 miles for each group. Food was good, cars were awesome and we all had a good time. Much better than TV football & beer on a Sunday.
