From the HAMB - maybe a Chevrolet?

Recommended Posts

Looks odd at first glance but I think it is either a 1929 or 1930 Chevrolet - with some modifications. Some kind of grille guard??

Tried again - the first time I copied and pasted it - obviously didn't work. Saved and posted this time.

I suppose I should have asked the question - what is the radiator shell?

The radiator shell itself is 1929 Chevrolet. The insert on it is an addition that did not go with the car, originally.

29 Chev, the only year with the full apron between the frame horns. Horns, rad shell and radiator not original.

I might be wrong, but I believe a 1930 had the same apron.

I stand corrected.  Thank you Curti.

The only difference I know of between the 29 and 30 Chevy is the fuel gauge. On the tank near the filler on the 29, on the dashboard on the 30. You can't tell unless you see it in person

60 Years of Chevrolet says the '30 had:

first time use of hydraulic shock absorbers;

slant windshield on all models;

electric fuel gauge as said above;

tire size reduced from 20" to 19"x4.75.

New models were added too. In 1929 the engine was rated at 46 bhp at 2600 rpm while in 1930 it was rated at 50 bhp.
